Ready Player One

It was an honor to work with Steven Spielberg for the first time — one of my all-time favorite directors.

Ready Player One was a mainly Full CG show. ILM Singapore was in charge of the Shining sequence, in which I brought to life the creepy lady in the bathroom. I also had some transformation shots of the main character.

Working with Spielberg was a dream come true. Hearing him talking about our work first hand was truly inspiring.

The bathroom scene was a complex one, as it involved a lot of blinking lights and flaring to make it look realisitic. I used lot of expressions and controllers to art-direct the blinking and get the correct lighting over the characters in every frame.
